Harsh Karande
Vice President of Manufacturing Operations

Harsh Karande was appointed vice president of manufacturing operations for Kyocera Communications, Inc. in 2004. Previously, Karande served as the company's senior director of manufacturing where he oversaw global operations for the company in its San Diego, Tijuana, Sao Paulo, and Hyderabad, India facilities. Karande has experience spanning more than two decades with companies including QUALCOMM, Packard Bell NEC, Wangtek Inc. and PCO Inc. Prior to joining Kyocera Communications, Inc.in 2001, he was director of quality for Qualcomm, leading projects including development of the quality system for manufacturing the "Q Phone," the company's flagship product at the time. As director of worldwide reliability and quality engineering for computer manufacturing at Packard Bell NEC, Karande led development of key functions and processes including supplier qualification criteria, ongoing reliability testing, and design verification testing. He holds a B.S., Production (Manufacturing) Engineering from Bombay University in India and a M.S., Engineering Management Science from Wichita State University in Kansas.
