Channel Marketing Manager - Wireless (San Diego, CA)
SUMMARY
Oversees channel marketing programs, materials, and product launch activities. Manages the development of channel-specific company marketing programs. Responsible for assessment of existing and potential markets and product life cycle planning for assigned channels. Develops, implements and administers programs and marketing opportunities within Kyocera channels of distribution to increase sales and Kyocera brand presence. A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in marketing or related area or equivalent experience
- 5+ years marketing or sales experience, preferably in the wireless industry
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Ability to proactively identify marketing opportunities and activities
- Effective organizational, negotiation, verbal and written skills
- Working knowledge of company functions, and marketing policies and procedures
- Strong leadership skills
- Working knowledge of wireless communications industry
- Excellent organizational, time management skills, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Contribute effectively to a team environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads marketing related activities associated with the channels, acts as key liaison for account managers, marketing staff and customers
- Communicates with and cultivates relationships with carrier customers; maintains knowledge of carrier customers’ organization, business strategy and target consumers
- Develops and manages strategy and tactical implementation of channel marketing programs (promotions, sales incentives, launch events, sponsorships, etc.) that are consistent with business and account manager sales goals
- Maintains product lifecycle plans within assigned channels and works with account leads to track product sell-through and inventory levels for each customer
- Approves channel marketing program designs, rules, and materials; develops timelines and ensures budgets and deadlines are met
- Manages agency relationships
- Develops Point of Purchase marketing plans and implements innovative merchandise to increase Kyocera brand/product presence; manages inventory and availability of point-of-purchase materials
- Manages inventory and availability of product launch kits; Ensures availability upon launch of product for each customer
- Manages vendors to create and develop effective channel programs, materials and merchandise offering
- Responsible for budget planning, tracking, monthly reporting, invoice submission and account reconciliation; tracking and managing use of MDF for assigned channels; responsible for presenting program plans and obtaining management approval for channel program funding
- Business travel required for customer meetings, events, tradeshows (20% – 30%)
- Responsible for other activities as needed
